Vaccinations

A vaccination plan ensures your canine companion remains protected against dangerous diseases.

The veterinarians at Campbell River Veterinary Hospital understand that every dog has a different lifestyle. Our goal is to work with you to develop a vaccine protocol that will work for your pet’s lifestyle, age and needs.

What types of vaccinations do your offer for adult dogs?

For adult dogs we recommend Rabies, Bordetella, Leptospirosis, Distemper, Parvo, Adenovirus, and Parainfluenza combo. Your veterinarian will work with you to develop a protocol that works for your pet.

Is there a schedule for how often to vaccinate a dog?

Every four weeks starting at eight weeks old and finishing when they are 16 weeks old for their puppy series. Once the puppy series is done, they will come back in one year to booster all vaccines and then Rabies and DA2PP every three years and Lepto and Bordetella yearly.

Why is it important to vaccinate your dog?

Vaccines trigger protective immune responses in pets and prepare them to fight future infections. Vaccines can lessen the severity of future diseases, and certain vaccines can prevent infection altogether. Our veterinarians will develop a vaccine protocol best suited to your pet.

How much does it cost to vaccinate my dog?

Costs vary depending on your pet’s needs. Please call us to discuss a cost estimate.
