It is an excellent idea to frequently weigh your cat to keep an eye on his body weight. Weight can quickly sneak up on a cat and can be detrimental to your cat’s health. Our staff can help choose a nutrition plan to keep your pet healthy and have a long life.
We use the body condition chart to determine whether your cat is in its ideal body condition. It is a scale of 1 to 5 with five being severely obese, your veterinary will check your cat’s body condition during your cat’s yearly physical exam and keep a close eye on your cat’s weight.
Reducing food intake and treats, feeding a weight loss diet if your cat is overweight. Also, avoid free feeding always feed your cat two meals per day and try to introduce more play time.
We will recommend a new diet that we feel will work for your cat. We also provide free weigh-ins after starting a new diet and body condition score.
